Industrial Roofing and Maintenance Ltd in Walsall was contracted to carry out a factory unit refurbishment in Cirencester, for Watermoor Meat Supply Ltd - as part of converting the unit into a meat cold storage and retail outlet.
Our task was to strip back the existing factory unit to its steel frame and then install composite roof and wall cladding throughout. So we dispatched a four man team of our Birmingham industrial roofing experts to complete the works over a six week period.
The project began with the strip down and removal of the existing asbestos cement roof panels (IRM Roofing are certified to refurbish and repair asbestos roofing, as well as manage its removal). Once taken down, our Birmingham asbestos removal experts also organised for the asbestos to be taken to landfill by a registered waste company, with consignment notes issued to prove legal disposal of the contaminated waste.
After stripping back the Cirencester factory unit a few problems were discovered. It became evident that the roof purlins were rotting. So as the specialist industrial roofing company in Cirencester, we were tasked to supply and install new roof and wall purlins.
Once everything was prepared our Birmingham industrial roofing experts installed the composite wall cladding and roofing panels which spanned 500 square metres (using Kingspan KS1000 RW Composite panels with 120mm core thickness - consisting of a metal outer panel and metal inner panel with insulation sandwiched between).
